Sorry for the all questions huh. I realised there are a lot of OEM controllers in the market that could be passed off as genuine ones to the unsuspecting buyer like myself. For example the one below. I will definitely be getting a preowned xbox controller but how you guys differential between the OEM and the real mc coy ?

This weekend Qoo10 has $8 off $40. And if you have points can use for another $5 discount.

If you have money to spare, of course buy the XBOX One controller, hassle free, and wireless via bluetooth is quite invaluable. After discount $47. Korean set came with free game Recore previously, not sure now.

Else Wireless Xbox 360 controller. After discount $27.

Basically don't buy from OEM.

Buy from actual real shops, or buy from people who have bought from actual real shops.

But of course there are also real shops known to sell OEM so avoid those too. Shops like Challenger, Popular, TOG are ok.

OEM is Original Equipment Manufacturer, meaning it is genuine product.
Xbox 360 packaging used to be confusing, if it is red, it was meant for Windows PC and has a significant markup. White packaging was Xbox 360 and is cheaper. Now is just this white OEM packaging and the Microsoft Corp branding is in a small corner in the back of the box.

Note the used carousell listing by wwenze includes the wireless receiver for PC for $30. The OEM ones need to buy it separately.

Unfortunately many sellers have a different meaning when they use the word "OEM".

These shops have since been on my blacklist.

Yes, shops, as in, actual shops, in Singapore. That still have fanboy supporters even on this forum.

Below is a good way to check if your controller at least matches the functionality of the real controller:

In particular, the analog stick buttons and the triggers. Fake products like to cut cost on these - no button within analog sticks, and using digital instead of analog triggers.

Some mistake OEM for Third Party and use incorrectly. Third Party are usually described as such or use the term Compatible.
