hey guys,

In need of a gaming rig that is able to play most recent games (PUBG) and also on future games.

I have a budget of 1.2k - 1.5k whichever can be cheaper if possible?

I do need a monitor and wireless card since the desktop will be place in the living room.

I do not need keyboard, mouse, OS :)

Thank you guys!:s12::s12:

PUBG needs at least a GTX1060 card to get avg 60fps

Get at least an I5 / I7 with 8gb ram

With budget in consideration, you may wish to look at a second hand system

I don't play much games of late, but 60FPS can also be achieved by using lower graphic settings isn't it? It is always good to be able to crank up the graphics to the max, but not everyone have the budget to go for higher end components.

Sir my 1600x + r9 290 can get stable 60 on low settings, which is what you should be using on pubg to see enemies more clearly.

Sent from Xiaomi MI 5S using GAGT

R9 290 is slightly less than a GTX1060

I've done tests on a 950

PUBG vLow = >60fps
PUBG Low - 40 - 60fps

Yes, you can run it at vlow low but the eyecandy is horrible!
What i am saying is to realise cost savings by going used, and increasing the GPU budget into a higher end GPU like a 1060 and above, which produces bucketload of difference

PUBG around SOSNOVKA Military Base using FHD with an I7-4790 + GTX10603gb
Low 80-110fps
Medium 70-90fps
High - 60-75fps
Ultra - 50-60fps

The benchmark is to get at least 60fps With a 1060, i am able to play at Med - High

With Threadstarter's budget of 1.2 - 1.5K,
1070 = 500+ avg 550 used
monitor =$150 to $200
Left $750-$800 for a system which is very doable for an I7 Haswell with an HDD + 8gb ( 16gb and/or SSD if you are lucky )

A 1.2k budget can get a 1060 + monitor + cpu easily
1060 = $260 to $300
monitor =$150 to $200
Left $800 for a system which can have a quad core i7 + hdd + ssd + 16gb ram

Don't get me wrong

Your approach is to sacrifice visual quality to get more CPU horsepower

My approach is to maintain Visual Quality by getting enough CPU Horsepower
as i find it more satisfying to see better eyecandy, than to feel idle threads twiddling thumbs in an unseen corner of my CPU Desktop Chassis..

Key is this weekend
The sales are making nice configurations doable

16gb ram ~ 250
8400 + mobo or 1600+ mobo ~450
left 100 for ssd hdd psu case
