As I work long hours on the laptop with the mouse, am looking to upgrade from the current Logitech M185 (with keyboard) that has served me well to something more ergonomic.

It has to work with both Bluetooth and and wireless USB dongle), and that preferably does not need to install software (e.g. Logitech Options) as my company's IT has disabled any installation of non-approved software. The latest version on my company's software library is Logitech Options 6.8 (dated Feb 2018), compared to the latest version today which is 7.10.3 (Dec 2018). Was considering the Logitech MX Master 2s due to number of excellent reviews, but also wary as there's a number of reported issues with Bluetooth disconnection.

Any other options to propose?

Logitech M585 is pretty good, only thing it can be a bit slow to wake up on Bluetooth sometimes.

Great, can this mouse connect directly to the Bluetooth on the PC without needing to install any Logitech software? Also comes with the Unifying dongle in case we want to go wireless, right?

Will see how much the flash sale price is, though will never be as low as the buy 1 free 1 offer during the 12.12, but oh well..

Oh forgot to mention, the scroll wheel for the M585 feels kind of weird. It's doesn't have very discrete steps, which makes it feel vague.
