Currently using AVG free but it’s not good, slowing my PC down.

I don’t mind yearly subscription

Re

Kaspersky Security Cloud free. Add SpyShelter free (with a firewall and HIPS) will make them a strong combo

If you want a paid version can use Kaspersky Internet Security or BitDefender Internet Security

ESET Internet Security/Avast Premium Security (both paid) have many features and runs well too, but their protection is second to Kaspersky/BitDefender

Bitdefender is a go to! Not hungry on CPU resource and does not give out alot of false positive

Comparing the free ones,

Am using Kaspersky after comparing against Bitdefender. In terms of resource use, both are quite similar for low-resource machines. Reviews show these two to be quite on par in terms of detection strength. In terms of interface, I like the extra bit of control that Kaspersky has over Bitdefender (a little oversimplified for my liking). Boils down to user preferences for both of these.

I liked KSC enough to subscribe to KTS for 2y, but the free KSC is more than sufficient.

I like Eset NOD32 , caught alot of stuff which slipped through Windows Defender. Until I totally switched off the Defender.

Have been an ESET NOD32 user for the longest time.

Now is Black Friday period, so I thought I'll go see if they have got some good offers that I can renew early. Was surprised to see that they have revamped their products, added in more (unnecessary, for me) features and increased their prices. The most ridiculous thing is their renewal prices are more expensive then their new subscription prices, and longer duration sub costs more. And now need to create an ESET account to "manage the subscription".

Any ESET users knew about this?

Am thinking of shopping for other AV solutions. Anyone has resource-light recommendations? I'm using MacOS and Windows (Parallel Desktop).
