Insurance policy or endowment to protect my family and children if I’m game over.
1 and 2 got liaoEndowment does not protect, so you can forget about that one.
You will want to be covered under these 3 main insurance.
1. Life insurance for yourself (and your spouse if he/she is also working). This is so if something happens to you, your children will have the money that will see them through life until they come out to work. If your spouse is not working, then this has to cover him/her for the rest of their live.
2. Integrated shield plans for everyone. Medishield Life covers a lot, but can still cripple you with costs if you hit the caps.
3. Disability Insurance. For the cases where you remain alive but are no longer able to work.
For life insurance, you should go for term life insurance. If you qualify for Aviva MINDEF/MHA Group Term Life, this is the best deal available in town and you can add on Disability Income Rider.
If you do not qualify for the above, then the next place you should look is http://comparefirst.sg and look for a DIRECT Purchase Term Life insurance. DIRECT term life plans bypass insurance agents and are significantly cheaper than term life plans purchased through agents.
There are others in this forum that are better prepared to give recommendations on ISPs and Disability Insurance, I'll leave it to them to jump in.
