Gaming do not need an i7. And furthermore non overclocking dont even need a 4770K. the K stands for overclocking.

1) not OC-ing no need k cpu and no need Z board
2) not SLI-ing or x-fire no need ATX board
3) most demanding task u do is gaming = no need i7. i5 is enough.

But if u got budget like $3k to $4k n wanna spend on a dream build, then it's fine I guess.

If that's the case, a Asus Z87-Pro or a MSI Z87 Gaming mobo bah.

Future proof is nothing to do if you get an i5 or i7.

The only difference between an i5 or an i7 is hyper threading technology found in i7.

Gaming do not utilize hyper threading. Don't worry, you probably 90% whom was brain washed and think that an i7 is for gaming. Read more of the threads around in hwc you will know why.

i7 is used more for photoshop, renderings etc.

You dont see a huge performance jump in i7. For gaming the real performer is the GFX card.

For an i5 non oc the best bet is MSI B85m G43 + i5 4570 ~ $356
