Recommend specs for live streaming

Hello, I need some recommendations on the cpu and ram specs for live streaming simple desktop applications such as OneNote and PDF viewer. Specs must be powerful enough for almost lag free live streaming, together with webcam and microphone use. Thanks

None of these are intensive. A Ryzen R5 1600 or higher can handle it no problem. Make sure you are on wired and not wireless connection

Depends on which i7

Ryzen is cheap and uses less power, but you should get 6 core just in case.

With your basic apps even a 4-core is enough though.

Yea you forgot to tell them that it's your nVidia GPU doing all the encoding work.

1080p60 will kill even an i7.

If it's through YouTube/Twitch/etc

Any random modern Intel processor should do the trick (QSV)

The extra threads offerings from ryzen should be beneficial for cpu intensive loads. Or just go with gun ablazing; THREADRIPPERRR

That said, coffee lake has closed the gap with cores and threads (kinda), so intel is definitely viable too.

Encoding itself, probably not. computing power is probably more important. Editing is a different story tho.

get a laptop with gtx 9xx or later for streaming

i just did some research and testing.

Past few generation of intel i5 processors (8250U range) are sufficient for 1080p @ 30fps streaming on youtube live with approx. 4 secs lag. The Intel quicksync feature in those processors are good enough and they are comparable to high range gfx cards for video streaming encoding.

So don't need gfx card or i7 or 16 GB ram. just a mid range i5 with 8gb is sufficient for my tasks.
