Hi all,

I'm looking at a new skylake build at the moment, and intending to do a small form factor build.

I don't intend to overclock, and am thinking of going for an i5-6600.

Does anyone have recommendations for a motherboard? Looking to spend under $500.

Have considered the following:

MSI B150I PRO GAMING AC
ASUS B150I PRO GAMING/WIFI/AURA
ASROCK H170M ITX AC
GIGABYTE H170N WIFI

but am not sure which to go with.

I'm going with a single SSD setup, so don't need RAID support.

Does anyone have any experience with the above boards? Also willing to consider other options. Thanks!

just a quick note here.

If doing virus scanning and want faster scan times, get an i7. You can see all 8 threads running at 100% during virus scanning. i7 is more future proof. So get i7 if one can pay more.

Or get AMD Zen next year, if in no hurry. Since AMD is priced lower than Intel and their Zen should be competitive with Intel's i5/i7.

ok lah. With some 'marketing' you use already also more shiok. :s13:
Of course the product itself is more important.

Besides CPU using 8 threads, having a SSD when virus scanning helps tremendously.

Take Asrock out of the picture. Would rather spend a bit more on the big 3 like Asus, MSI and Gigabyte. Imagine the hassle if you need to RMA your motherboard. Unplug all the cables, take out all the sandisk, Samsung, crucial, corsair, PNY, mushkin, toshiba, OCZ SSDs, take out all the behemoth SLI graphics cards that weigh 6 kg with six fan coolers and a RGB LED. And a CPU aircooler weighing 12kg....might have to spend a month just doing it....Play safe with mobos.
