Basic use for Microsoft office work and children to use for home based learning and also Roblox/Minecraft gaming.
Any brand to recommend?
I don't want AIO pc because I wish to use the monitor to connect to my work laptop while wfh, my current 7 year old AIO pc can't be used as an external monitor.

almost any online shop selling mini pc for less than $800 is suitable since only do MS office, children's HBL work and only roblox/mincraft.

you can find lots of those on lazada and shopee.

I think I prefer a branded one like Asus or HP for better support and 3 years warranty.

if you wish to have local warranty, can consider
https://www.lazada.sg/products/asus-mini-pc-n5105-pn41-bc530ad-i2909932587.html
https://shopee.sg/Asus-PN41-BC530AD-Celeron-N5105-4G-128SSD-i.881733363.18285588570

https://www.lazada.sg/products/inte...anty-nuc13anhi3-i2877773925-s19908450824.html

check carefully, choose those with ram and storage and os if you are not familiar with assembling windows pc

those without ram/storage/os are usually labelled "barebone"

buy monitor, keyboard, mouse separately

monitor, acer often has promo, $120 for 27-inch monitor, example

Avoid the ASUS PN51

Very toasty. Even Honeywell PTM 7950 won't save it.

I just read that Asus has taken over the NUC from Microsoft from 2024 onwards.
I might just give Asus a chance, not so confident in the Beelink brand.

Oh I just realized the latest lenovo AIO PC has HDMI input where I can plug my work notebook to use as external screen. I may go ahead with that as I want a less cluttered desktop.

i am looking for 1 computer as daily driver.

my guess
tier 3 beelink, GMKtec, minisforum.....
tier 2 should be asus, gigabyte, msi.....
tier 1 are HP (EliteDesk, ProDesk) , Dell (optiplex), leonvo (nano series)

another option is get a laptop or build a ITX pc

Another option worth considering is getting the basic (bare) mini-pc setup of your choice without storage and memory, purchase them separately (locally) and fix your own.

Daily driver with light gaming+emulation, personal preference is to get those mini-pc with AMD APUs. Some mini-pc that come with a spare PCIe slot are worth considering too if you need that expansion (Eg. 10G NIC, low-profile GPU)

If you wish to use for gaming, recommend to double-check on gpu

One way is to search for videos of your game and the specific gpu, e.g. Genshin impact rtx2050, Assassin's creed rx 6600, etc.

You will be able to see many YouTube videos showing how playable the game is, frame rate, etc.
thanks, i did that,

RX550 still can run 1080p in low setting. not bad

anything with ryzen 6000 and above in lazada can play games. its like having a dedicated gtx1650.

search for mini pc:
6800h
7640u
7840hs
8840u

dont buy pn51, thats an old model using 2021 cpu
