Recommendation on what to upgrade

Need advise what should I upgrade and reuse from my current computer for a mid range rig for games like Fifa and Skyrim and D3 and FPS

My current config is

GIGABYTE EP43-DS3L + C2D E8400 3GHZ
2GB Kingston 6400/800 RAM
SEAGATE 500GB HDD
Power Color HD4850
SAMSUNG 22x DVD Rewriter
Cooler Master Centurion 5 + Andyson 500W PSU

I got a spare 128 GB SSD i intend to use as boot drive on the new computer

Any one got recommendation what I need to upgrade? Can I use back my casing and PSU?

this rig should be more than 5 years alrdy.

any budget?

option 1: upgrade gpu only, but ur cpu and mobo with pcie gen 1 will bottleneck the gpu, so its not advisable.

the best is to get a new rig, for overall balance performance.

i was using centurion 5 too but the air flow is very bad.. but value for $ at that time. now there r a lot of new casing that is very good with air flow and cable management like the phantom 410, define R4, corsair 540.

for psu i dun like andyson... dun ask me y just had bad experience with it.

You would probably need to upgrade everything.

Can keep the PSU and the DVD writer.

Need to know your budget also so we could recommend you further.

Budget about 1k ...think I can reuse the HDD and DVD rewriter and thats about it

PSU same age as the rest of the stuff...i think 2008 till now...
