This is my 2nd time to Taiwan, and i will be bring my wife and 2 toddlers, age 1 and 3 yrs old. The first time i was there, i went to Taipei and surrounding areas like Dan Sui, Jui Fen, Kee Lung, as well as Hua Lien.

This time, i plan to go to TaiChung and surrounding areas like Sun Moon Lake and Alishan. Do you guys have any other recommendations?

As i am staying at relative house in Tai Chung, my plan is to do 1 day trip to Sun Moon Lake and next day to Alishan. Price quoted by the driver is $5500 for a 5 to 8 seater each day. Is the price ok?

We have only 2 adults and 2 toddlers. What is the best option to travel?

We have 10 Days and 9 Nights there.

Thanks in advance. :)

Hire driver more easy since you got 2 kids with you.
From Taichung, you can do day try to SML and Cingjing but Alishan you need to stay a night. Alishan travel distance is very far.

When r u going to Taiwan?

I m going to taiwan in end nov to early dec this yr. This will be my 2nd time also. 1st time went Jiufen , whenever i see pple say going to Jiufen, i always wonder whether it is worth the hassle for them.

I went Jiufen last trip in early Dec, it is raining season, that morning rained cats and dogs, and Jiufen was very crowded with tourists, esp when it comes to noon time, imagine we have to hold umbrellas and squeezed in between the crowds, and have to look back and forth to make sure our kids and elderly r following us in the crowded narrow streets. We didnt really enjoy the trip in Jiufen.

We went shifen after that, it is more enjoyable, even though the rain continued to pour, it has many tourists also, but less crowded than jiufen, hence more enjoyable.
