I also had this issue last month and was looking everywhere for a solution for a leakage problem to downstairs neighbour. Asked around and found out about flood infusion, the good thing is you don’t need to hack and replace whole toilet. You can check out Prima Seal Waterproofing, they specialise in flood infusion method. They managed to solve my problem and I had a good experience with them.

Hi, sorry have to dig this thread as it showed up in my Google search.

Wanna know roughly how much to do it as my toilet also failed the recent water test during HIP.

The issue would be resolved during HIP as the whole toilet would be hacked and renewed. Hence you better agree to the upgrading which would be cheaper. Just for upgrading 2 toilets, it cost me less than $600. Other upgrading option, like bin cover, door and gate etc I did not take, though they were simply so cheap.

When I bought a resale flat, the master bedroom toilet showed sign of potential leak. My contractor suggested that he pump my almost 1k into the sealing. But just after one year, the ceiling started to leak.

I complained to HDB and they sent an officer quite promptly to my flat as well as the flat upstairs to determine whether upstairs is responsible.

He officer suggested that the common toilet also be rectified though nothing was wrong with it. In the end I paid about $280 (25% of cost) for both toilets and upstairs unit paid the same and HDB bore 50%.

lolzz....i am the neighbour downstairs.

i bought my resale unit in Apr this year and in the midst of renovating my kitchen and toilets, my I.D made known to me that i have rather serious leak issue coming from toilet and kitchen upstairs. i filed this issue to HDB and issue was finally fixed in Oct about 4 months later when my renovation is completed, I didn't have a choice back then to withhold works and just continued to it, the water stains and dripping kept coming in till I had to use a bucket to contain, the drips were like a drop every 20 seconds constantly. in the end some calcium stains had formed on my wall tiles over time and unremovable but then oh well.......i can live with it small issue.

i have yet to be informed by HDB for the amount of my 25% portion bill.

During the time of investigation and any proposed solution correspondence with me from HDB, the HDB officer informed that there is this method. But this method will not be eligible for the goodwill assistance scheme from HDB (50% subsidised by HDB, 25% upstairs capped at $700, 25% downstairs capped at $700) and both owners bear that method cost 50%-50% ownselves.

the goodwill assistance is only applicable for the old school method which involves the hacking away, waterproofing and retiling. it comes with a defects liability period from HDB.

$750 I think

HTML:

my neighbour above is causing the common toilet ceiling leak and now the HDB officer recommended solution is the chemical injection method which is $750.

Is that cost for you for 1 toilet or 2?
And why didn't you opt to have your neighbour below co-pay?

Anyone has contractor to do replacement of floor trap? Appears that my earlier contractor did not use long collar floor trap and now there is localised leak. Thinking of just replacing the floor trap to the correct type.
