Nice design similar to that of Poco F5/Redmi Note 12 Turbo where they do away with the camera island that protrudes out... leaving just the individual cam lenses protruding out by themselves from the phone back... but one thing though... the phone is quite big...

Note that it is still using the same Helio G88 that's used in its predecessor...

I got the Redmi Note 12t pro for $300, overall very good phone, much better response and build quality than the early versions a few yrs ago. Basically this phone flipped around my impression of xiaomi gained from early era period of using poco phone and redmi

Yes CN rom, it's not my first CN rom phone, although if you search around in taobao, there are also slightly costlier versions with international rom sold by sellers shipping from HK. I find that cn rom is not really a problem, i just switch UI language to English, uninstall what i can, turn off notifications for what's left, and then it all feels perfectly useable. I frankly dunno why online forums make it seem like such a necessity to flash international rom, to the point of writing guides to install Google that includes flashing internal rom as a necessary step

Because of google pay, location history share, auto sync n save to google account.

I hv a cn rom unit of rmx1991 and it doesn't do these, no means of crossflash unlike Xiaomi units

Poco m6 5g similar look
Ya but of the 2, I prefer the more minimalist look of the Redmi 12 ie. minus that usual black patch with the big bold Poco branding that Poco has to have on practically all their entry-level to mid-range models...
