Which will you buy?
surface pro 3 or macbook pro 2014?

surface pro 3 is can use as a tablet, convenient outside but very expensive
macbook pro more powerful.

Also Current macbook 3 years old , almost 4 - battery and charger spoilt , worth to repair? or buy the above?

Been trying to find out , surface pro 3 tablet state plug in mobile broadband usb , can receive internet?

Bro bought Surface Pro 3 recently and I think its more laptop than tablet. Using it as tablet imo is for the games on windows store. Desktop mode its a nightmare using fingers for the touchscreen (maybe cos of my fat fingers) and need some time to get used to the pen.

So you will have to factor in the keyboard cover which is not cheap at $183, but it is not too bad to type on and has backlight.

I think there isn't any "tablet state" or what, so the USB stick should work since its a full fledged USB on a x86/x64 windows version.

Touch screen should stay only with mobile devices like smartphone and tablets imo. I'm not a fan of having smudgy screens if possible.

I wanted to buy surface pro 3 as all in one, imagine tablet surf internet on the move (like apple iPad), when settle down could go into desktop state.

should i still buy surface pro 3 or ditch the idea?

given my macbook 3 years old , almost 4 - battery and charger spoilt

should i spend money replace the battery($90-150) and buy a new charger ($108), upgrade ram to 8gb($150)

price anyhow estimated, so roughly $400 worth?

or should i upgrade to macbook 2014 or wait for macbook 2015?
i heard first quarter 2015 macbook the chip not much boost, need wait till third or fourth quarter?

Depends on u want primary function as tablet or laptop. IMO surface pro 3's primary function is laptop then secondary as a tablet in terms of experience. Surface Pro 3 is like the lightest windows laptop u can find so far (factored in weight of the cover keyboard). If you want more tablet experience I think you will be disappointed.

I think Yoga is even shifted more towards a laptop than a tablet. If use as tablet u are gonna feel the weight if you are standing up or trying to hold the device upright like on a train or something. At least surface Pro 3 if you can detach the keyboard and put it away to reduce weight.

theres the new yoga pro 3 quite light and quiet as there are no fans inside due to new broadwell cpu. weight more or less arpund the same as surface pro 3 attached with type cover. seems quite powerful should be faster and more powerful than sp3 also maybe can check that out

As good as it is, SP3's typing ergonomics just doesn't exist when on the move. The keyboard attachment design on the SP3 just can't stand up to the traditional robustness of using real hinges.

Try typing on the SP3 on your lap, it doesn't inspire confidence that your $1600+++ machine would not fall off thanks to its top-heaviness. And although it is the lightest windows machine out there, it's still big and heavy for tablet use anyway, not to mention the limited windows tablet experience...

Why not consider ASUS Transformer Book Flip TP300LD or TP500LN?

Spec not bad and price reasonable too :s12:!
