Reinstall Surface Pro

Have a Surface Pro that starts to hang and do funny things.
Thinking of format and install the Window again.
Must I get ready the CD key? I threw away the box already.
Since it is OEM, will install all automatically without prompting anything?

Type "reset this PC" in the search box, choose "Get Started", choose keep your files, wait, done.

you can choose. my suggestion is don't choose factory setting. because it will revert your windows version to what it was shipped with. no issue to update, but very troublesome lah. just say reset and keep files, choose download from internet, and it will reset to the most current available version from Microsoft.

eh, the surface pro isn't really easy to do a teardown, unlike a regular pc or laptop..
amateurs without the right tools might risk damaging the internals, maybe even the screen too
