This conman advertised in ST Classified for house painting using real Nippon paint at cheap price. When he visits your site, he will look for other works such as floor tiling and said he can do it cheaper. He then asks for some deposit and disappears afterwards. A police report has been lodged on 2nd April 2014.
Call the Police if you see him. He is associated with a number of similar scam cases.

Renovation SCAM

I would like to add, we have been ripped off by the same person Peh Poh Seng Tel: 8458 4780 NRIC: S1152649G . Poh Seng House Painting.

He posted in ST classified as Professional Painter and when he arrived, he start to say he could do other type of renovation. He quote very cheaply and ask you to confirm the order.

Upon confirmation, he will asked for down payment. After that, he will disappeared and not contactable.

I have done a check on him and he is a bankrupt. The status of the company is cancelled.

We have make a police report on 20 May 2014. If anyone got cheated by him please also lodge a report on him as accordingly to police, they will act on it if there is multiple reports on him... not sure why they will not act to prevent more people being cheated.

We have also been cheated by this man Peh Poh Seng. He is in his fifties. He brought along another man also in his fifties to cheat us. He used the same tactics and took money and absconded with the deposit.

For a man in his age to resort to cheating is very very pitiful.

And yes we have lodged a police report on 24 may 2014. Anyone also cheated by him please lodge report because police need more report to take action.

Its hard to trust contractors nowadays. Anyway cheap above the market rate means something is wrong. You guys shouldn't be too greedy, unless that guy can do I to the spot and you pay on the spot. Giving a deposit is too risky.

Just to make things clearer. His quote is pretty believable because he quoted market rate. What drew us in was that he knew a lot about paint job and brought in many brochures. I have checked with a few contractors and his quote was at par. So I don't think it was a matter of greedy or not as he came and was pretty believable.
