Need to reformat my Lenovo running Windows 8.1 but the system simply refused to let me do so indicating there's missing file. Tried to run Auto Repair also failed, showing me some errors. Tried searching through Youtube and follow steps accordingly but also doesn't work. Seems like I need to send in and let someone do for me. :(

Any reliable & charge reasonable price place to recommend for that?

Formatting stage only tells me got missing file and unable to con't.

I went to the System-Update & Security and select the reset pc option.

Too bad mine doesn't comes with Windows CD and neither do I create any backup image or recovery CD ... that's why now so headache.

You should create a bootable USB flash drive which contains Windows PE, and an installation file of the new Windows version you want to install. Boot using the USB flash drive, chose to load the Windows PE, then run the Windows installation via the Windows PE. :D

If this is so maybe u can take a pic of the error and upload to your post? So that others can guide you more easily? (Since we have no idea what is the error appear when u doing formatting.

But resetting isn't like formatting. So are doing reset or format?

That option is to restore back to factory and will wipe off all my data and programs installed. As mentioned it only state "missing file" and the file name not reflected there so I rather find a reliable place to get it done then to explore any further.

Was your laptop original comes with their own win 8.1 or did you format and install the win 8.1?

If It comes with win 8.1 could be file courrpt on your factory disk in your HDD. And that prevent u from doing it. Seems like by doing so u will still need factory CD.
