I called up a shop at SLS and was told RX550 will not work on Asus P8B75-M LX motherboard. Can any expert suggest any GPU that will work with this motherboard ? Thanks.

I dun see why it wouldnt work. It has a pciex16 slot which is compatible with any gpu. Did the shop recommend u or mention something else to u??

I am puzzle too. I called up just to check for Rx550 stock and told my intention was to replace HD7870. He told me cannot as my motherboard is too old. :s22:

It is old no doubt but if the slot is still function as a proper PCIE3.0 x16 slot, it should work.

iirc a number of polaris cards only have a UEFI VBIOS, no legacy BIOS so it won't post properly on older systems.. level1techs talked about this early on, iirc with a guy from sapphire that mentioned all their cards don't support legacy back then. Even on Fiji, they pushed a UEFI only VBIOS late into the product cycle.

Anyway back on polaris.

But since its an Ivybridge board, there's a chance it has a UEFI BIOS but sandybridge mb higher chance that the PC vendor didn't port it to UEFI (esp oem desktops)... But if wanna try luck update the BIOS first.

Oh didn't know that there were such issues with Polaris chips. On legacy ROM. Though the tech means it can't run due to the fact of the old system.
