Replacement for ASUS HD4850

Hi guys


Mine is a 5 year old graphic card already and it keep freezing when i play FIFA 14. I am thinking of replacing it to something equivalent. Preferrably Nvidia card.

However, my mobo now is MSI P45 NEO 2, dual core Intel processor.

Can recommend me one Nvidia card? ATI seems unstable to me.

Nowadays still can get graphic card for old mobo like mine?

Can...why not? Im using a core 2 quad CPU, which uses the same type motherboard as urs, and im running a R9 290 GPU

U should be able to use all GPUs, but do note that nowadays some GPUs are extremely long. I made the mistake of underestimating the length of the R9 290 (got a shock when i see the size of that monster), end up my casing not big enough for it and have to buy a new casing. So other than this problem, u wont encounter any issue.

Add: Take note of power usage too if u planning to buy a powerful GPU.

I recommend a 2nd hand Radeon 7850. Its smaller than 4850 in length and consumes less power as well, and its soooo much better than the dated 4850 (i was using 4870 and upgraded to 7850 and was able to see how much better it is). 2nd hand 7850 cost $100+ only.

Hi bro,

My mobo (Asus P5B-E Plus) is probably older than urs. I just changed to a GTX560Ti 2GB GDDR5.. like you, i was using the HD4350 512MB for ages!

I am sure many cards out there are good for your mobo. Just go and grab a good deal on the 2nd-hand market.

2nd hand gtx460 ~40-50 bucks . can still play lots of newer games at low or mid settings.
