Replacing acrylic side panel with glass

My current pc case has an acrylic side bolted in by 6 thumb screws. Full of micro scratches.

Looking into replacing it with a custom piece of tempered glass. Has anyone done this, and could you share the contacts? Prefably I bring the acrylic to him, he matches the size and thickness and drills the holes for an easy replacement.

Am thinking probably it will be quite hard for them to change for u a tempered glass when its quite heavy itself.(the side panel of the case)

dont think the tempered glass can be thin enough, it will need to be thicker

Tempered glass thickness is relational to the size of the glass. The bigger the piece, the thicker. Becos if too thin, the glass cannot hold on to its own weight. Contractors will need to calculate load bearing and choose the thickness accordingly.

The thickness of ur glass would be ard 3.2-4mm . That will be easily 2kg. a bit too heavy to serve as a PC case.

Not worth the hassle imo. Get a new case may be cheaper. Like the NZXT S340 Elite.

Cannot get another new piece of acrylic? Glass simply too heavy n you mentioned micro scratches on your acrylic.
Means u often meddle w your case. Getting glass might not be a good option since accidents can happen.

Yup that might be a route to consider. I actually left a note with the case distributors but they haven't gotten back. Guess i'll have to check around for acrylic alternatives then. Thanks bro!

With all the hard work. Might as well just get a new case with nice tempered glass. Even inwin 303 is at $150.

Ya leaning towards that now. Was gonna go for the NZXT S340 Elite but they only have space for a radiator in front... would very much prefer my radiator to be on top.

I believed there are experts here doing modding case which might help in replacing w acrylic panel.
Another alternative....which could be cheaper is find those acrylic shops which can help cut to size.
Once confirm price, just bring down your acrylic panel n let them cut n drill exact.
Go home fix up....then peel off the protective layer n u got yourself a shiny new panel.
