hi, anyone can recommend any center for the RES course, and any agents care to share their experience on being a part time agent, commission and work life..
- do i join a comp first or take the RES first
-on average how much per mth earn
I took my RES course at IEA. Trainers there are good; 10 of my course mates formed a study group at the end of the course, 9 of us pass both papers on our first attempt. 1 failed Paper One. It's not a tough exam if you study for it.
Checkout their schedule here:

And if you are NTUC member you can claim UTAP for the course and exam:
iea.org.sg/index.cfm?GPID=256
possible to take the RES course as individual? chialc: yes. To get upto 50% discount, you should join/become a NTUC member. RCN (one of the course center) can help you to apply. Note: need to pay $9 every month as a NTUC member
- do i join a comp first or take the RES first chialc: you could take the RES course, pass the RES exam and then join a company. After that, your company will register you with CEA and then you can start to sell.
-on average how much per mth earn chialc: Model answer is it depends. However, you must mentally prepare to go with zero income for your first few months
For those with full time employment, letter of approval from the employer is required before registration with CEA.
Agree with zero income for first few months or even longer. This is what I'm experiencing as I have to start my network from scratch. Also completion rate isn't high. There's lots to learn and passing the exams is only the first step.
i'm also considering such a huge change in my career too.
as a visual effects "artist", there are only 2 big companies here i can submit my resume to, and the salary is pathetic and i'm in my 30s without any real estate property or investment.
i'm not a sales type of guy, but in order to survive here i'm willing to do any job for my loved ones.
forgot to mention that i'm not local but a foreigner.

In my RES course last year, there was at least 2 PRs.
I'm in my first year and it's tough going. I was in a totally different procession and not a sales person type also. The RES course is only a start. There's a lot of things to learn from scratch. As already mentioned be prepared to go for months with zero income and at the same need to provide for expenses etc.
Hi s7460597, you mentioned for those with full time employment, letter of approval from the employer is required before registration with CEA. So if there is no letter of approval from the employer, CEA will not approve?

take course and sit through exam first then you are able to apply for company. the whole process is about half a year on average provided you pass both papers.
earnings depend on what kind of mentor you have. some mentors are able to lead you in right direction to help you earn.
im in SLP REALTY. Currently, the company covers all fees on signing up. insurance included.
our company has many projects available for us to promote. including overseas projects.
Every company has their perks. its up to you to work hard to make a living.
if you need help in passing your exam, feel free to text me your email address. i got past months papers to help you out.
I found these few articles to be more useful for me when i was deciding on taking or not the course... not easy though and i still can't pass after 2 attempts.
