hi guys anyone who is doing reseller webhosting now? recently i have a few of my friends who approached me for my services as they have been serviced badly by their previous webhost. I have browsed through their sites and found them to be rather static infomative websites as they are small home businesses. Hoping to start this out as a hobby first and then if possible branch out to see if i can make extra income from it? Anyone doing it now? Just want to check what are the things I need to look out for ?

reseller hosting business is cool if everything is running fine. When you have many clients on your service and your web host gives you the boot or downtimes without backups, then you will start facing nightmare with clients calling and bitching at you.

Yup you will have to do another data backup frequently for your clients, do not trust your webhosting that they assure no data loss, any disasters can happen.

I hate hosting resellers if they can't be 24/7 online for technical support.
