SAF Cardiac Fitness Centre. Its a collaboration between SAF and NHC. The doctors reviewing you are full fledged civilian cardio specialists. I'm assuming this was done as part of your HSP (or Ippt FFI as it was known in the past) since that is generally the only reason an NSman is referred there.

If you're asking about whether the review will provide sufficient information for the medical board to review your PES status then yes, it will. If you want to be kiasu, you can ask the reviewing specialist for a memo. But usually investigation results a
are automatically faxed back to your unit medical centre. In addition, they are also uploaded on the national electronic healthcare records since the tests were performed in a public institution.

As to whether it is adequate for finding out about your personal health condition, generally you will be referred to the appropriate specialist for further management should any abnormalities be found.

Bear in mind that SAF will only cover the costs of investigation and consultations relevant to assessing your HSP (i.e. Treadmill ECG and certain heart scans). If any condition is discovered, further management e.g. medications or surgery will be at your own expense (at a subsidized rate). If in doubt, always check with the specialist first.

A temp excuse from IPPT/RT/PT should have been issued if your HSP outcome is still pending. This will be sufficient to cover the time until a medical board is convened. SAF can't give you a new PES grade until sufficient information (i.e. test results) is available.

Think about it this way, you scare your unit with this heart thing. They still dare to make you do funny stuff?

lurkerdoc gave a very good rundown regarding the IPPT FFI.

can i assume that you are awaiting a medical board date? if that is so, you should be PES D/ pending pes, which means you are not supposed to participate in any NS activities, including ICT, until you get a temp or perm PES.

actually, for this issue, you should directly call up your unit and ask them what you should do next. eg should you wait for the medical board (which is hopefully before May 2019)? If the tests take time, and medical board wont take place in time before your ICT, you many need an official excuse heavy loads or a black and white excuse of some sort. in which case your unit can arrange a medical review so they can issue the excuse.

but i think you should call the chief clerk or the person incharge of the ICT and take it from there.

let the medical board review does its stuff

by then hope yr PES status can be resolved

so long as your PES status is subject to medical board review, don't think they can risk your health...confirm cannot gatecrash IPPT if PES shows pending
