Im using the 2011 27" and im loving it!

I am using the BTO 27" iMac Late 2012. Ordered 16GB Ram, 1 TB Fusion Drive.
My first iMac and too quiet as compared to turning on my usb fan on table, just to ventilate my MacBook Pro 2011 version.

Till date, I've been using it for Photoshop Editing, Video screening. No heat issue at all.
I've also upgraded my ram to 32GB Ram from 16GB

I fine the 21.5" too small. If you are upgrading from 17" previously, you might be feeling this machine is HUGE for you. However, I find that the big screen is good for multi windows open at the same instance. I need to work on large spreadsheets files concurrently and big screens helps loads.

Enjoying my iMac especially love the Trackpad as well.
The font size changes according to your display resolution changes, you can set it lower instead of the 2560pix.
Zooming is always straight forward in OSX. (dislike the Windows, magnifier tool, PITA)

If your budget allow, 27" is the one to go with.

ya...went to the retail shops and compare. 21.5" looks way too pale in comparison. although its a much more heavy price, i guess i'll just take it as an investment.

heart pain is temporary. big screen forever! :s13:

i bought the 27"
compared to my older model of 2010, this is so much better. No heat issues

More zai and fonts size, yea its small. i use command & + to enlarge

i also try to set the setting for preferences. do not display fonts of x font size...
then it looks bigger BUT it makes the bookmark column the fonts look blur le so i changed it back to default

mail wise, u can also set the preferences but the font sizes might overlap in the preferences (fonts) setting but will look ok in the mail CLASSIC layout section. it seem that there's a bug on mail because it doesnt work when classic layout is untick
i have send feedback to apple on this n hope those who have issues with yr imac / Mountain lion sw, give yr feedback to them so they can improve their sw.

overall i will never consider the 21.5", wana whack, whack the bigger screen. more shoik & also with watching movies etc.

mine was 27"
i7
2gb graphics card
3tb hdd
8gb + 2x 8gb ram kingston bought from harvey norman (correction). looks the same chipset as the ram that comes with my iMac.

does the new imac power button "stable"?

mine 2011 version....sometimes..press once you can't on ~but rarely

in fact I have done some research last time....quite a lot owner of 2011 version the power button is like that...consider "normal" ~

is not the power button faulty or whatever ~
just that there seem a "target point to hit " a feel like that..
