Router placement & Ethernet Connection

Hi all,

I used to have my Asus AX86u Router in Bedroom 2 of my 5-room HDB. Everything is working well and my ethernet cable is from the router to my PC.

Unfortunately, due to my Sonos Beam in the living room constantly dropping its Wifi connection, I was asked to move the router to the tv console area so that the sonos beam can have an ethernet connection (needs to be directly connected to the router).

I would like to check if it will be possible for me to use an ethernet cable to plug in directly to the wall socket from my pc in Bedroom 2 and still achieve the 10gbps speed? Will it even work without a router? I have already connected the Singtel modem to the right outlet on the mainboard but i have read conflicting things online about the best way to do this... Please advise. Thank you!

If your home is a new HDB flat, should have a patch panel for you to connect everything behind the wall. Then set up the AX86 as a standalone AP in your preferred location.

The Singtel one is an ONR, which means 3 in 1. If you need more ports for connecting to your ONR, just add a switch for every room to connect multiple devices.

I'm slightly confused. Are you saying you have Ethernet running along your wall from the Singtel modem to your room and also another Ethernet port ending at your living room TV console?
If you have 2 ethernet ports on your wall, then it is possible to connect directly to your Sonos Beam.

If the above mentioned is not the case and you need some sort of HomePlug ethernet solution running along your electrical wiring, then I would suggest you think of just buying a cheap Asus router capable of AI Mesh. Then create a Mesh network from the router in Bedroom 2 to the router at the TV console. Once that's done, you either solve your Sonos Beam WiFi issue or you can just plug an Ethernet cable from your second cheap Asus router directly to your Sonos. Either way, it will solve your connection issue with the Sonos Beam.
I do not recommend a HomePlug as you have to buy it first to try it and it can vary very greatly from house to house depending on their wiring and so on.
Thus, the Asus AI Mesh route will kill 2 birds with 1 stone with giving better WiFi reception at home along with a stable connection for the Sonos Beam.

Of if you want a cheaper route, hire a Networking person who can install new Ethernet port from your Bedroom 2 router to your TV console area. This can also solve your issue and your Sonos Beam will get a full wired connection like your PC.

Sonos Beam doesn't consume much bandwidth, you can solve the problem by using Homeplugs but if you have data point in your bedroom then why living no have?

If your internal network is 10Gbps then every room should be wired with a ethernet port?

Max you can go is 1gbps
Your Wall Socket support 1gbps or not?
Alternative you buy 30 meter cable directly from router to your PC.
