took Mariner of the Seas in Dec, HK-Viet-SG.
Swimming pools are rather small, u can't really do laps. I mean just two strokes and u reach the other end. They're used more for chilling out.
The food is ok, tons and tons of food everywhere you'll never go hungry. Buffet at the Windjammer Cafe, or sit-down dinner at Rhapsody at Lv 3-5 is more or less the same quality. There's this steakhouse and Italian restaurant that you'd have to top up US$20 to your credit to have a meal there. The Italian is highly recommended.
The gym is kick-ass, tons of equipment, not too crowded. Free towels, TVs, hand sanitizers and water-coolers. And cos this cruise is from Chinese location to Chinese location, the casino is packed. Blackjack table has $15 minimum bet, $500 maximum.
There's rock climbing, putting course, ice skating, basketball court (which can be converted into a street soccer court). All free obviously, it's really fun. You can play bball with strangers and have loads of fun the entire day. Random ping pong tables around as well.
There's a dedicated mahjong room on the top floor beside the rock climbing wall if u like mahjong
Expect very long Qs for meals on the first day cos people aren't sure of things yet. The staff are always the best, helpful, friendly and remember to tip them more.
I heard from one waiter, Oasis of the Seas (biggest cruiseliner in the world, 6000pax capacity) could be coming our way in 2016!
Oh and Star Cruise is sh1t compared to RC.
