Ensure you are using the correct wattage psu cable or adapter, insert correctly and ensure adequate air flow. RTX 4090 requires 600w rated psu cable or adapter

It depends how you connect and whether you use a good PSU with enough wattage.
Meaning can't say for sure won't melt, so far rigs I build haven't melted.
But try not to bend the cable too much.

Use vertical mount like me if you dont feel safe or if your case is too narrow

Go on reddit pcmasterrace almost everyday got a post with 4090 melting and yet 4090 owners are only so few

The issue is still ongoing and strong in other hardware communities.

I am not sure what 4090 melting cases you are referring to but those with 4090 with the old Cablemod adapters are burning on a daily basis. Idiots who insists on continuously using that adapters have their own selves to be blamed.

Stick to using PSU cables for now and you will be safe. The issues that is still ongoing and strong on hardware communities are mainly all those that are using the old cablemod adapters. Almost every day there will be one unlucky person that has his connector burnt. Have built tons of 4090 systems and none of them have ever had any of their connectors burnt until today since launch. And knowing reddit, most of them do not even know how to plug in a wire properly much less insert one properly into the 12VHPWR socket.

If scare cable melt, get RTX 4060 or RTX 4070 which some use the standard
PCIE connector.
