Hi all,

I was recommended to buy the Ryzen 5 2600 as I don't play any games on the PC. Just mainly for work.

Was checking out Lazada, Shopee etc and it seems like the price varies a lot. Cheapest is S$214 (Lazada - videopro.com, Shopee - TechDeals) and price can go up to S$300. Is it better to buy online or to buy from Sim Lim? Or should I even consider buying from Newegg or Amazon (S$205 with GST and Shipping)?

Any productivity tasks like video or graphics rendering ?

I do some basic video and photo editing. And also simple 3D modelling. I have a dedicated Nvidia Quadro graphics card for that.

Are you upgrading or building from scratch ?

Check your 3d modeling software faq,

If single core is important, might wanna go Intel or ryzen 3rd gen. 2600 can do it if on a strict budget.

If optimized for multi cores, go for 2700.

My current Intel setup is about 5 years already. One piece of ram died. And it's running on 1 x 8GB ram now. And it goes into an endless restart loop once in a while. So I want to change the MB, CPU and RAM.

SyraLeo,

I am thinking of the same setup too as you. Asrock B450M-Pro4 and 16GB DDR4-2666 RAM.

How is the Asrock B450M-Pro4 MB? Am heading down to Sim Lim tomorrow to get it. The price is about S$139. Ladaza selling for same price, but can be cheaper with coupon/promo code.
