S7 is it 5g device.?

Hi. I was being told by starhub Cs Samsung s7 is not 5g?can anyone confirm if it is 5g? Thanks

Not sure if trolling or real, but...

If you're referring to the phone, definitely not a 5G network device. Even if you are trying to ask if it's a 5th generation device, no. It's Samsung's 7th Generation of the Galaxy S series phone (hence S7)

Or, are you referring to the Samsung Galaxy TAB S7? That's a different device. This just came out this year and is 5G capable.

Hi I am sorry. Didn't know there is a similar model. I am referring to the s7 tablet. I just bought from starhub this morning. They told me is a 5g this morning. At night they call to say is wrong info. Its only 4g..so better to check with experts over here.

The confusion came because this is a Phones forum. :s13: There's a Tablets forum elsewhere on HWZ.

For Singapore, the base Tab S7 is 4G only. 5G and the better screen comes with the Tab S7+, the base model lacks these additional upgrades.

The cheaper Tab S7 Fan Edition looks to have a 5G variant though.

Samsung Singapore probably did it to push sales to their Plus edition for those who want 5G.

Thanks alot! Ya 5G not ready but I don't forsee myself buying tablet near future so might as well get 5g to be slightly more future proof abit.. Thanks! Starhub Cs was nice to allow me to change. But I didn't use the tablet yet also..

Frankly, 5G will be a while yet. IMDA's already clearly stated nationwide 5G is only expected by end 2025. By end of 2022, only half of Singapore is expected to be covered. That's just 16 months later, so it gives us something to think about and whether we want to pay the costs associated with being an early adopter now, or wait until 2023 and perhaps reevaluate our purchase decisions.

Pros and cons - if you feel up to it, it's perfectly okay. It's also okay to wait if you're more conservative in your approach. A tablet is a rather big-ticket purchase item, so it all depends on the individual.

Also, even if it's just 20% coverage, but your home and workplaces and the places you are 80% of the time happen to be in well-covered 5G zones, then you benefit from being an early adopter too.
