SAF allowance for NSF is backpay?

Good day all.

i just orded on 7 may 14. was a 3SG without combat allowance drawing $800 per mth.

eh for some reason i received my so called "allowance" on 9 may but only $148.

any idea why?

damn lol, was expecting 600+ at least. since always thought its backpay.

UPDATE: hmm seem like everyone received 100+ only for may 14, so i guess it shouldn't be a mistake. Thanks all!

I remb SAF pays on the 10th right? but since 10th may is sat so pay on 9...

pro rated payment?

800/31*7=180ish.

maybe my calculation wrong somewhere. or dunno their exact formula

when did you enlist? 8 May 2012? or were you in the enhanced batch?

allowance and salary two different thing.

NSF Allowance is for the month itself, not for the previous month. So for the month of May, you will only get the allowance for 1 - 7 May.


hmmm, my calculation got a bit of problem. Your aviva deducts directly from allowance?

i think i know why...

the moment you ORD, that pioneer magazine will auto subscribe you to 2 (or is it 4?) years of publication and one shot deduct the entire amount from allowance.

Not sure about pioneer long term subscription cause I email them to cancel way before I ORD.

Info for all. The normal pay for SAF on 10th of each month, is your pay/allowance for the 1st to last day of that month. So if you got partial months, the amount will be pro-rated.

There might be special advances / backpay for CNY / overseas deployment / promotion etc. Same for just enlisted if bank not set up properly, they might credit later.
