Safest drive from Cameron Highlands => KL?

Hi all,

After driving from Penang to Cameron Highlands, what's the safest way to go from Cameron Highlands to KL?

Not like there are many choices. The shorter route is via Tapah to join the North South Highway.

I just want to basically avoid the dangerous, old route that everyone's been talking about...

Once upon a time there was only the Tapah Road which must be the old, dangerous route you are talking about. It happens to be the shorter route to KL. Just keep your wits with you and avoid pumping your brakes too frequently.

Just drive using the new road is safer and could actually save time. The old road only one way up and down and not even sure if those pot holes problems still persist.

exit Cameroon via Ipoh,simpang pulai road , 2 lanes road. pseudoly safer only as it allowed higher downhill speed.. may back fire .

Be smart to use engine breaking, use lower gear to go downhill, don't keep using the brake.
at the foot hill, there is clear roadsign to get to NSHY.
