Shop i bought along serangoon rd charges $356 (dark blue) gives 1 month warranty. White is $360.
Quite good service. Allow me to use nets.

comparing sim lim, far east and little india, which has best price and warranty coverage? (i know no warranty from samsung, but only shop warranty)

i always see the mad rush at little india, is it really v ery cheap?

Yes little india i bought at $356, dark blue model.
Mustafa $398 no warranty.
Next shop near mustafa along serangoon rd $362.
Further down, another shop quoted $360 for white, $356 for dark blue. Says anything wrong within 1 month, can bring back . Mustafa says bring out of shop, cannot return if spoilt.
Far east mobilesquare quote online $380 when i last check.

I hv the Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos. The SIM card slot in the Grand is normal size. How to put in the smaller micro sim & still use it? Unless you use an adapter?

just adjust till the metal contacts of the sim and the phone meet will do.

my mum bought a samsung galaxy grand ( i am personally confused with the DUOS / QUATTRO thing) at a handphone shop. cost her $377. is there even a local set for this model? i checked it is a GT-I9082 and it has even a 'samsung smart care 24mth warranty' sticker pasted on the top right hand of the box. got kana scam bo?! wah lao.

Galaxy Grand Quattro - quad-core - is I-8552, if I'm not wrong.

I don't think there's a local set available, as mentioned by others earlier, warranty, if any, should be from the shop and not Samsung Singapore.

"Samsung Smart Care 24-month warranty" doesn't sound like Samsung Singapore's warranty.

Scam in what sense? Unless it's not a local set but they told her "anything wrong can bring to Samsung Singapore"...?

she was told there is a 1yr warranty "just bring the receipt to the shop" u know la our parents not very sure of all these terms..
my parents not even aware that it is an import set.
that smart care sounds like a program offered in africa.

So the shop's giving her a 1-year warranty of its own, they'll probably do their own repair if anything happens. Touch wood!

Ya, many are not sure of these terms; they hear "warranty" sounds good enough.. Well, if she's comfortable with the phone and price, let's hope for the best then.

I think Samsung Smart Care is what they call their customer service program these days, here and abroad.
