IMHO. IIRC.
Feb early this year, Samsung had yield issue thereby Qualcomm turn to TSMC. Could be a form of "penalty".

The only two companies that don't seem to be following this trend are Sony and Sharp (latter only sells within Japan though)

That's why these 2 companies are not capturing a larger market share than apple samsung xiaomi etc

Now a days consumers do not really care about removable batteries or expandable memories etc, they are more focus on slimmer/durable/waterproofing etc thus why companies (esp samsung recently are removing those removable options)

Want more battery? Power bank/Fast charging/Wireless charging
Want more memory? Cloud services/OTG usb/backup to comp

You mean the companies care more about profits? They don’t care about consumers as we have seen with Apple removing the jack then introducing AirPods right after.

you only get profit when your product sells, and that means making things that people will buy.
They will have to listen to the consumers to do that.

Just look at Fold 3 to Fold 4, no more front screen protector ($48 for samsung SP), no more free Care +, $30 price increase

NPO care about consumer feelings, FPO priority is profit before consumer feelings

Samsung Fold 4 and Flip 4 are their premium products. They can get away with premium pricing.

My family just got a flip and the promotions make this a very attractive product. You can easily use the Samsung $250/$300 as offset for the things you need to get. Amazon also give you $80 off and a gift card as well.

and Apple are also doing the same and people will still buy.
