Samsung’s Galaxy Z TriFold was a short-lived, all-in-one smartphone and tablet first released in the US in January. Now, a new report suggests a sequel is in the works, but we might not see it until Samsung's July 2027 Unpacked event.

I might actually be interested to cut short my Z Fold 7 lifespan to upgrade to Tri-Fold 2 next year, if Tri-Fold 2 is set to launch next Jul's unpacked.

Will be interesting, because Z Fold 8 Ultra has upgraded the battery to 5,000 mAh, charging speed to 45W, aligned with the Tri-Fold 1st Gen. In addition, Z Fold 8 Ultra has anti-reflective inner screen and less crease. Plus, Z Fold 8 inner screen form factor is well-liked this year.

So the next Tri-Fold 2 form factor will be a combination of both Z Fold 8 Ultra and Z Fold 8. If the battery capacity is bumped from the 5,600 mAh and using silicon carbon battery, I hope to see a Tri-Fold 2 with same specs camera of Z Fold 8 Ultra, Ultrawide 50 MP, bigger battery of 6,500 mAh (if that happens ) and faster charging speed of 60W (matching with S26 Ultra). This will be a perfect phone for me alr.

So likely, Tri-Fold 2 could be the main highlight for next year's foldable. May be a hot-seller. I feel Z8 Ultra has peaked alr.. Tri-Fold 2 may be the next successor for those currently using Fold Ultra. Then, Z Fold 9 will still remain popular, my guess is that it will ultimately replace the Z Flip eventually.
