just for public interest

if you have a sandisk product, if it is from Vector Magnetics , it must have this sticker(below) on your packaging

warranty.jpg

You must keep your packaging and original receipt, BOTH or at least the packaging, the original receipt is almost useless because some retailers sell Parallel imports and vector magnetic sandisk product, for example bizgram

if u bring back to bizgram, they tell u wait, 15 days for RMA

if u do not have both of them, Vector Magnetic can RMA for you, but with admin charge of $5-20, reasonable priced. is about the same if u send them to sandisk taiwan etc. and most probably u can get it on the spot

so save $5-10, or better RMA experience, u decide,

same as buying from IT SHow, queue up blardy long save $5... but get parallel import set, need to wait for RMA etc

http://www.vector-magnetics.com/rma.html

keyword : sansa microsd SDHC SDXC 64gb 32gb 16gb 8gb 4gb 2gb thumb drive thumbdrive memory card warranty rma

I don't get it. If I bought a 8GB flash drive for $8 and I need to pay $5-$10 for RMA, then what's the point?

I might as well get a new one. :s13:

Your item is parallel import or not from vector magnetics

No sticker means not from vector magnetics

U may try other rma centre Or shop bought from, they honour or not is another issue, waiting also another issue

Oh, I bought my Sandisk SSD from Best Buy Computers and they told me the distro is Kaira, no more Vector Magnetics. Maybe different distros for different Sandisk products as opposed to a single distro covering all Sandisk products? Can someone enlighten us on this?

I RMA'ed from Vector before, kept my receipt and packaging intact... process was rather straightforward.

Although I feel that keeping the packaging is abit silly, but I suppose it's their only way of identifying the stocks that they distribute.

Have yet to RMA from Ingram Micro or Kaira yet so no comments on how the process will be. But the previous IT shows had some people with trouble claiming their warranty it seems.

Vector Magnetics was never out of the game

do not believe Kaira or Ingram saying that there is no more Vector Magnetics.
actually, Vector is the the top among the three distributors of SanDisk. they are the one supplying to the big guys (Challenger/HarveyNorman/Mustafa/Popular/Cheers/etc..) yes they require receipt and packaging as proof of purchase because there are many shops there that do parallel import. for me i would rather buy sandisk products with their company warranty sticker since whenever got problems with my cards, they will replace one-to-one on the spot. no waiting.

if u do not have the packaging with "Vector Magnetics stickers" on it

return to the shop u buy... most likely not one to one exchange... wait 3-4 weeks

those are parallel imports

Who keeps original packaging, so stupid. Sandisk should take over the RMA ownership.
