I'm somewhat confused trying to figure iurt out the train passes for sapporo.

I will be in hokkaido for about 13 days but only 4 days in Sapporo.

Will be taking train and subway while I'm in the city.

Is there like a tourist train pass that I can buy to allow me unlimited rides during my stay?

you will need to list out the cities you are going.

Generally, the passes only make sense if you have plenty of long-distance trips. Otherwise just stick to suica for the subway and buy single tickets for the long-distance train

so actually no need get the pass?
The pass will cover the seat reservation charges, on top of the base fare. More useful if you’re taking multiple limited express train journeys.

Use a travel app e.g. JapanTravel by Navitime, to do your sums before committing a pass.

If you’re not visiting various cities within 5D (pass’ validity period), then no point - you won’t break even with a Pass. Buy single tickets instead. More flexibility in your itinerary.
