Sennheiser HD600 alternative?

Hi peeps! I was looking to get myself a new pair of headphones and recently tried on the Sennheiser HD600. I'm quite fond of the sound quality. However, I want to make a smart and informed purchase which I will not regret. I like to ask if there are any other alternatives (or competitors) to the Sennheiser HD600 which I should try before I make my final decision?

The Sennheiser HD600 is still, to this day, the best sounding all-rounder headphones I have tried under $300. They have a neutral sound profile, without being too analytical. They are extremely comfortable, easy to repair and maintain, and not so hard to drive.

What DAC stack/combo/onboard audio will you be using to drive the HD6XX? like the HD600, the can scale well with better audio gear/source. I have both the HD600 and HD6XX, and neither are analytical sounding to my ears, or NOT so much so, but compared to the HD600, the HD6XX is more forgiving.

If you like the sound of the hd600. There are lots of alternative you might want to try out first before you get the hd600. HD600 is characterize as an open back neutral sounding headphones.

You can give the AKG K702, the audio technica AD700x, AD900X, or the AD1000x even the ad2000x a try. These are good alternatives. The audio technica are more open and more airy sounding and have the most wide soundstage then the hd600. The AKG is very clear and neutral sounding and is a good alternative to the hd600.

Can also give the massdrop HD6xx a try as this are the same as the HD650. More warmer sounding then the hd600 which alot of people like compare to the hd600.

Also if you gonna buy especially the sennheisser headphones try and splash some extra cash on a good dac amp. You can unleash more potential from the headphones.

If you prefer more bass, more warmer sounding but still able to maintain that wide soundstage, can also give the ath-a990z, ath a1000z a2000z a try. These are closeback version of the audio technica AD series which is the open back version.

Also, give the beyerdynamic headphones a try. Their dt770, dt880, dt990 is a legend and is highly love by lots of audiophiles. Do give them a listen and then decide if you still prefer the hd600.

If you are a certified basshead, don't get hd600
It is only good for concert and jass music

Do understand that while HD600 is almost universally well-liked, it isn't for everyone. It has a narrower soundstage (compared to the Audio Technica AD700X) but imaging is good. The AD700X has even less bass compared to the HD600, but is well-liked for its spacious soundstage and pretty decent imaging.....bass, to me, is almost non-existent. The HD600 has pretty decent bass, surprised me as I'd heard almost everyone say that bass is lacking. Do bear in mind, it certainly lack basshead level bass, doesn't even come close actually. Due to its narrower soundstage (I'd said 'narrower', NOT narrow per se) it can carry orchestral pieces nicely but does better with more intimate pieces like Jazz or even chamber music.

Using a DT990 pro since 2014, bought the HD650 also to try.... tried it a few times and really can't take the sound. It's too upclose, no soundstage like the DT990p. Even how I'm testing it, with Amp and without, its just like the sound is 'flat' (not EQ wise, but how it projects onto your face). Until now still can't find any that have a soundstage as wide as the Beyer. If there's, please let me know

My heavy rotation headphones are HD600 and HE4XX for open headphones. I prefer the Hifiman HE4XX. But you will need an amplifier to drive both to the full potential.
