Hi, what do you recommend for the hard drive to be installed on the server rack?

Option A
2 x 2TB/3.5”/SATA Hard Disk with onboard RAID 1, Volume 1 (200GB for OS) and Volume 2(1.8TB for Data)

Option B
2 x 500GB/3.5”/SATA Hard Disk with onboard RAID 1 for OS
- 2 x 2TB/3.5”/SATA hard disk with onboard RAID 1 for Data

Which one is better - Option A or B?

Why are you not considering a SAS? Next is what is your server used for? Identify the usage and applications on it

Option B is better la.

OS usually put Raid 1 mirroring.

Save the applications in D: drive.

Which one is better - Option A or B?

For server, please.. always use RAID 1 minimum. if got budget, do a hot spare. if got more budget, upgrade to SAS HDD.

Make sure your HDD is enterprise storage class. the lifespan & quality is much better than those consumer HDD.
