Hi all.

I am a intern majoring in marketing and know nothing about programming. I have been told to design a shopping cart which is interactive. (Able to upload image on product, edit, adjust then submit) and i have no idea how to go about doing it, not even a simple shopping cart. Please do advise!

Thanks in advance..

What do you expect others to help if you knows NOTHING about programming, and yet you are tasked to design a shopping cart ?

Why are you tasked to program when you knows NOTHING about programming ? Please clarify ?

Would you be interested to just buy an off-shelf product, or engage someone to do it for you, since you are major in Marketing and not Computer Science ?

This is themed under "Internet Marketing" and its supposed to be a "tool" that enhances customer's convinience. My partner mentioned that we are unable to do it so they asked us to learn it ourselves online. They are alright with us purchasing it off shelf but it must not be too expensive, but of course, for our marks and appriasal we have to do it ourselves

I think by the time you managed to develop your own decent shopping cart, your internship would have ended, if you are a fast learner.

Luckily you are not under "Automobile Marketing", you might be tasked to built a car.

Perhaps it make more sense you just deploy your own shopping cart solution using open source products such as PrestaShop found at PrestaShop - Start an online store today with PrestaShop's free e-commerce software.

Even this off-shelf product still requires some learning curve to install and manage. But it's definitely more realistic than developing one yourself.

No one becomes a developer capable of delivering a shopping cart from scratch without prior knowledge to what software development is about. Realistically, unless you are endowed with much above average IQ than the rest of the people, it probably takes you half or to a year to get up to speed with basic software development skill sets that can pull off a decent shopping cart with works in basic features, and that assume you are pretty bright in this area of knowledge.

Fully agree with davidktw, but even with Prestashop, I doubt TS would even know how to setup a website and upload the files for deployment.

There's a reason why Marketing usually hires professionals to do such stuff.
