Should I get a new router?

Currently using an wifi extender for my bedroom. However my Whatapp calls always disconnects when I switch over from my room to my living room. Will getting a better router solve this? What router should I get?

then the location of the router also important.

if less hassle, just get mesh routers

Hopefully not Singtel as their bundled router are bad.
2) What is the current router? I think for sure is ISP free router.

Check if your contract is up or not.
TP-Link Archer ax72 will do fine.
If you need to extend WiFi range can just use a WiFi extended.

not sure where u place your router, if possible, relocate to more central location

often issue is location and not router quality

Get a mesh setup as the transition is seamless(auto-switch between nodes when you move around) as compared to extender (If you move across nodes, you will disconnect and then reconnect).

Low end (dual-band tplink deco m5 or x20) will do if you only use whatsapp calls and watch some 1440p and lower youtube videos... Otherwise higher end ones, tri-band mesh is the way to go, e.g tplink deco x68+.

Yeah, when your phone is connected to the extender, it connects to the AP in your living room when you go out of the room. That's why it disconnects. The solution is to use mesh.
