Some of y’all may remember I’d previously asked about the best option for getting a Nespresso machine, but recently got to use a bean-to-cup machine at an event and started to look into it instead.

What is EDMW’s best option for most bang-for-the-buck home-use bean-to-cup machine given the following requirements:
  1. Frothing/Steaming wand only, no built-in milk container for frothing/steaming
  2. Smallest possible footprint
  3. Cheapest possible to still produce good results
I was actually researching the all-in-1 types with the milk container for frothing/steaming, but I realise it is too much of a hassle cleaning, so sticking to models with wand only.

Anyone can SIC?

Didn't hear of a good bean to cup machine before. I will still stick with nespresso until i got time to slowly do a grinder+espresso machine combo.

Am a nespresso user. Was thinking of getting jura pure espresso machine and use a milk frother to froth milk. I still find it easier and more hygiene to use a frother on its own.

I use a De'Longhi ECAM 12.122.B. works great, bought it a year back for 499 on Lazada during sales. I am using lavazza crema aroma beans with it and not looking back!

That would be a Magnifica S … how many shots of espresso can you make on 1 tank of water?

I was originally looking at the all-in-1s and shortlisted the Autentica for the smallest footprint machine with the built-in frother/steamer, even though reviews say choose this model only if your need for small footprint ranks higher than to not need to top up often … but then I realised having built-in frother/steamer would be too much of a hassle cleaning.

I’m okay with small footprint = need to top up water more often … I mean, it’s for home use, no big deal. So now looking for best bang-for-the buck no-milk-container machine with the smallest possible footprint.

One tank is 1.8 litres, a shot is 30ml. Give and take the amount of water the machine uses to rinse everytime u turn it on and off, you get about 40 shots maybe, that's about what I experience too. I take a double shot twice a day, with the machine turning on and off in between
