Hi guys,

I noticed the Sim Lim Square APP on app store reached top 3 of free downloads last week.
Tried the App and notice it is a little buggy, still think it is a useful app.

I was asked to "review" the app.

Any comments is much appreciated.

can you suggest to add in a function/whatever to include blacklisted shops?

it be good if users are allow to blacklist, reasons must be given to blacklist.

Too few pricelists. Those that I frequently check like pcthemes, tradepac and best bargain are not provided.

i think there is a function for a "thumb's up" for a shop you like... more thumbs up by users means good shop right?

as for blacklisting them on the app. i doubt it can be done on the app itself.

hmm

i support this

maybe a "thumbs down" next to the shop address and a reason for it?

Just that this app is not made like a feedback app. wonder how they gonna do this.

I suggest more price list too.

I don;t even download because in the first place SLS already give me an bad impression.

Don;t think you know frds working there or shops located at higher levels stuffs are cheap.

ya even I sometime cannot help have to visit sls buy things because THAT the only place selling.

so LPPL for me.

I saw the apps don;t help much.

ya add BLACKLISTED SHOPS is the best to make this app more worth to download.

at least we can judge ourself by comments.
reviews ect. no douth some maybe false comments but atleast we get some guidance which shops must be careful and aware of.

discount coupons and reviews about shops will help.

best is have a price comparison of a product that is available in some shops so save the trouble to walk around to look for the best buy.

i strongly agree with this!

i was about to give this comment then i realise unfortunately the moment an active blacklist appears, this app will immediately be nipped in the bud as participating retailers might retract in fear of being ostracized or easy target of other less honorable merchants, and sometimes its just plain misunderstanding or miscommunications but consumers are likely given the benefit of doubts instead of blemished retailers. then whats the point of having an app that only showcase a couple odd ones standing out, the rest cowering behind? so i believe the current status quo is win some lose some

as for the thumbs up system, dont anyone find its very prone to abuse? eventually wont every retailer gets the full award since they might get ppl to boost them

my feel is either come up with a better merit system or leave out the popularity contest altogether for the sake of the continued survivability of this app

how about adding discount coupons?

i have other ideas for ref

after using the app for a while i find the 'Highlights', 'Promo', 'Featured' sections kind of overlapping, maybe even a bit confusing, especially to just onboard new users. experienced users like us might know which is for which, but we will just feel somehow dejected all the same as we see it as theres so many different links for essentially the same things. why dont i suggest somehow you find a way to consolidate these into one big section, maybe Weekly Promotions and then actually carry out the updates WEEKLY AS IN REGULARLY. currently these 3 sections are not updated regularly, users might be seeing the same thing over and over again week in week out. if this persists, interests from local users themselves, whom i believe should form the foundation bulk of the all users, would probably wane over time and this app will fall right back down the popularity charts. the risk is when the egg gets smaller, so does the chicken. and vice versa and so on..

initially when i came across this app, i saw a lot of potential for the concept. but after some time, especially when updates become stagnant, even predictable, i fear it might fall into disarray soon enough. i am not sure if its just me, but i have a personal habit of removing apps that dont move, especially news related. i can appreciate the effort the creation team has put in so far but that said, the hardest part of the equation is still trying to keep things updated regularly. do that and i think the take up rate, not to mention the ongoing viewership, will improve by leaps and bounds. because this app leverages on a specialty subject, it needs to build trust and reliability amongst its already limited fan base. thats the secret of successful apps, especially those in information push

one last idea about the pricelist, currently its only limited to shop name and unit unless i am mistaken? if somehow you guys can manage to run a products and services dbase, such that everytime someone does a search on a specific item, a whole list of retailers offering that item comes up and this list can be viewed by price breakdown. or a different link might point to related items..which can lead to again more breakdown and more items, that would really help expand the marketability of any one family of products and services. but i understand this is a lot of hard work and vigilance, so i am not expecting it to pop up overnight running slipstream at mach five

i am sorry i couldnt contribute more than words, but believe me, i wouldnt say this much if i feel you guys dont have a nugget in your hands.

first things first, do the regular updates, you'd be surprise the followship jump

well said my friend..
