SIM UOL Accounting and finance vs Economics and Finance
I have read and researched countless threads about two of this respective discipline and came to a conclusion that finance is definitely a must take but what still bothers me is the other major. banking and finance is no since both of this could easily replace it?
Economics are generally well known for their challenging maths obstacles which requires one to be highly attentive to details and have strong quantitative skills
Accounting are known for dealing with numbers, repetitive work, monotonous but only requires a minority need of math skills for modules (i may be wrong, please correct me if i am)
Eventually i am still puzzled of which to select as my upcoming degree major which would commence this year
i have also read up on CFA and FRM and understand that many simply blindly chase after this two paper qualification without knowing what it was even for.
According to advices from other threads, i know private degrees have minimal chance of entering investment banking unless i have good networking connections and come from a lvy league school so my end goal would be somewhere in the middle office section
However would the major that i will be doing affect my career decision?
Could anyone please enlighten and guide me on this?
both degrees are good but its really hard to make a final call
additional information if needed : "im bad with maths but willing to work hard"
thanks!
