Hi guys! I apologise in advance if a similar thread had been made before, but I can't seem to find one.
I'm from NYP Diploma in Financial Informatics with GPA > 3.
I just have a few questions regarding this degree and hope to get some response from graduates.
1. Was contemplating between all the business degrees but ended up leaning more towards the Business Analytics course as it's more specialised compared to, example, Business and Finance course because I think being specialised is better than generalised. Please enlighten me regarding this!
2. Prospects for having a Business Analytics degree? Personally, I see this degree as a hybrid one, consisting of both Business/Finance and IT elements which means to say I could venture into both industries? Are business analytics degree holder very much sought after then if that's the case?
3. APL & Exemptions. From what I gathered, there are 4 100 Units module that has to be completed in Year 1, which are:
100 units
# EC1002 Introduction to economics
ST104A Statistics 1 (half unit) and **ST104B Statistics 2 (half unit)
MT1173 Algebra
MT1174 Calculus
I took all of the above modules before in Poly. But when I take a look at UOL's table of APL 2017-2018, my Diploma doesn't entail any of the above modules to be granted for APL, not even with bridging.
I looked around and it seems that I need to submit my results first before I will know what are the modules in which are granted for exemption. Not sure if it still works like this now, someone please share
Also, are there anyone applying to the same course this year too?
