Makes sense....reason I asked was that I know of at least 4 single corporate women over the years who have had their PR application denied...even though they earn very good money.

were not Chinese? so what were their races then and what are their races now?

I didn't know one's race can be altered in his/her lifetime.

Yes. No past baggage or legacies. Start afresh.

To avoid some countries bringing extended families (particularly elderly without skills) into Singapore.

We don't want those who seek to game the system by matching their qualifying points but continued to send kids to their country's education system school. These folks have flooded Australia, NZ, Canada, UK, US, etc. And there is a strong conservative backlash against that country's immigrants.
