Hi, i need help.

So i been charged for Unlimited Gamez and DM Entertainment Fun Game on my Singtel phone bill. I never subscribed to it and never heard of them before. So i called singtel and they promised to waive the charges and also activate PRS Barring Service for me.

They did activate the service for me but i still receiving the message that Unlimited Gamez subscription will renew. Singtel already made clear next time they message me again, it can't be help, cannot waive the charges. I called Unlimited Gamez and they said i am not subscribe to them and they don't have my information in their database. So how? I can't pay for things i never subscribe to or consent to, right?

And Singtel still haven't waive the charges yet. When i wanted to pay my bill, the subscription charges are still included. Can someone help me? This Singtel is ****er and scammer.

It is the PRS fault.
Telco will billed according to 3rd party request.

Do reconfirmed with Singtel via letter or email.
This is to get black&white statement to state PRS is activated.

Sometimes there are other ways PRS do able to get to you even PRS is activated.

Telco do have advert that include 3rd party.
As sometimes we may accidentally sign up on such.
And this may include paid subscription.

So do ensure to marked No to all advert from Telco.

Even if you subscribed to 1 of these, it may not be able to prevent these PRS from gaining access to you.
As many advert may rely on each other to enrich themselves.

This is my opinion.

Have you registered to PDPC.
This is one way to protect yourself from all local sources from contacting you.

www.pdpc.gov.sg

PRS isn't advertisement. It's 3rd party VAS.

To prevent, have to sign up for PRS Barring Service. All the three carriers have, but options vary and the ability to subscribe too.

StarHub can bar PRS on either ALL or 3RD PARTY. Not sure if need to call in to subscribe to PRS Barring or can do so via My StarHub or StarHub website.

M1 only have one option: Bar all PRS. Can apply through My M1 app, M1 website or M1 Hotline.

Not sure for SingTel.

Maybe i did not clearly stated on about advertisement.

Although PRS is Content & Service Provider as part of VAS.

Most apps upon opening, it will contain some form of advertisements on other apps.
As these other apps could be part of PRS as for example; Connecting Tones which is most common for most, if not All, Telco.

Hence we may unknowing click on the apps and once installed, it become a PRS service, where applicable.
Every App at the INSTALL button do stated payment where necessary.
So this is one way that it will become having apply and installed the Apps which may be related to PRS.
As PRS is not the App itself as it is a Company, (such as Google, Windows & 3rd Party good providers), that generate the bill for the App's developer.

There are partial 3rd party and full barring as optional.
Although full barring, it is still allow to access to these sites.

For Starhub it is available when you sign up for a postpaid mobile line under VAS.
But for existing customers need to send a sms to activate or deactivate the PRS Barring, refer to link;

http://www.starhub.com/personal/support/mobile/value-added-service/postpaid/prs-barring-faq.html

There are also options in the Account on Privacy matter.
Under the Account - Settings - Your Privacy
There are 2 options, namely; Starhub Addition Purposes and Starhub Preferred Partners.
The best is to indicate No to both options.

In the end, it is basically up to the customer themselves to review the privacy and decide to act or not.

Singtel PRS barring service blocks all PRS services if subscriber signs up for it.
Mits easily activated by singtel app and upfront activation can be done.

Thanks guys. I contacted singtel on Facebook and seems like it helps. I received sms from Unlimited Gamez saying i won't be receiving any more sms from them. Funny cause when i called them they said i am not subscribe to them and don't have my information in their database. Don't know who play me, singtel or Unlimited Gamez.

Guess I am not the only one, from since last month in Jan I have been receiving that annoying Unlimited Gamez subscription message which I did not subscribe to. Until last week I made a call to Singtel and they got those 3rd party crap barred. But unfortunately I still received that message again from UG today.

I faced exactly the same problem. It came out of nowhere and is very persistent.... Unlimited Gamez, Cool 360 VR and DM Entertainment. Upon checking my bill, i realized i was charged DAILY instead of weekly. It only came to light when the SMS regarding the charge came. Singtel CSO said i must have authorized it by replying to some sort of SMS but i have not even seen this thing before.

I click the unsubscribe link in the SMS and it gave me a successful notice. But 1-2 days later, i receive ANOTHER SMS that i have been resubscribed, WTF??? :s11: This thing is bloody persistent and i don't know how they keep re-subscribe me automatically to the service even after i opt out.

Bill came out to about 30-40 bucks extra but Singtel waived it off and i subscribed to PRS Barring service since. I asked if they can track down the 3rd party services and blacklist them for dishonest practice. Can we track them down?

I am still receiving the SMS from more and more weird name 3rd party services even yesterday but my PRS is already active so i'm ignoring them. I suspect our personal data is being leaked or sold out.
