Hi. Thanks for any assistance.

When doing a speedtest on my 300mbps Singtel Fibre, I get errors. Take a look at the following pics. Only when doing a speedtest on Singtel's server, can the test be completed sucessfully.

Doing the test on any other servers results in the test stalling and hanging at 0.04mbps. It does not complete the test. Is there some sort of blocking from Singtel's side since only their own server seems to work?

I have also encountered this before but it seems to be intermittent. Furthermore, I am using a VPN service so I didn't really pay too much attention to it.

For users of Singtel 300M, can I check what is your speed from speedtest.net, using Singtel server?

I'm in the West and currently not on contract.

Since last evening, I have been getting between 150 - 170M for download. Upload remains at a normal speed of 340M.

If I perform tests with non-Singtel servers, the download is at an extremely horrible speed of 0.19M! Upload is between 30 - 300M.

A check on historical test data seems to indicate the download speed slide starting from July, when my contract ends.

In May (and almost all previous tests), I'm still geting the usual 300M download. But starting Aug, the speed has dropped to between 230 - 270M, and today only 150 - 170M.

For other Singtel speed user, can you also perform a test to see if the usual download speed still remains.

Usual download speed should remain, at least it did when I was out of contract for a while.

Mismatched speed can be due to the router or ont. tried to reboot both yet?

Both rebooted liao, still sama sama.
Even turn off wifi and tv box to ensure no other network downloads...

Initially thought it could be peak period.
Thats why woke up 6 am to test. Result just as bad...

So my only conclusion is whether got renew contract or not :s13::s13:

Update:
Found out the speed difference is caused by the speedtest.net beta site.
I'm using Chrome that doesn't support Flash anymore, and have no access to the legacy site.
That's why was using the beta site, not knowing the test would have given such big difference in speed.
Used IE and the download speed shows the norm of 340M.
Guess speedtest.net beta site, is really still on beta afterall...

I would like to test overseas bandwidth.

My problem is not intermittent. It occurs 100% of the time. Is Singtel blocking it? How come some of the Singtel fibre users don't seem to get this problem? While for some., it is only intermittent.

Are there any settings I can alter to remedy this? Is this problem widespread? Then how do I test overseas bandwidth?

anyway is there any issues when u are connecting to overseas website? like cant load or load forever?

if both no issues, that means your connections is still fine, why bother testing overseas when most of the time our ISP speed is only for local not overseas.

beside that overseas speed is normally fracturing. so today u get max speed, next hr u get freaking low and u want to go complain to ISP why ur speed is damn slow???
