On my 21st month, I received sms from ST, for my combo 3 at $72, if i did not recontract, i get additional 3gb data. If I recontract, the additional 3gb data will cease. Dunno what kind of marketing is this.

SingTel is trying to ask you to switch from Combo 3 to other plan.

Edit to add: actually they are clever. They are trying to keep you using the Combo 3 plan as long as possible (even without contract) and not to recontract and get the new subsidized phone. So they will win.

On the other hand, more and more people will leave Combo plan now that the SingTel Circle benefits have been reduced.

We should all scrutinise monthly phone bill as well. Sometimes extra service are added to the bill without me know eg. Prime subscription which I had already terminated 3 months prior free 6 months trial.

Ytd went down to Singtel shop to ask about recontracting and getting new iPhone. Doesnt make sense to continue with current combo plan. Asked about XO plans and the sales guy said that it is necessary to change number to get the new plan + discount for the phone. I said I have no interest in changing number and he said then I have to continue with the current plan.

Is this true?? Seems like alot of unnecessary trouble leh

Which SingTel Shop? And did you ask the front staff who knows little or you got the queue number and asked the real sales staff?

My colleague just got the iPhone 12 Pro from SingTel. He upgraded from Combo 3 to XO 78, no need to change number at all. Also no need the 5G VAS.

This is what I have. I am a SingTel Circle member with Combo 2. Previously I could upgrade yearly. Now there is a S$150 fee if I upgrade yearly. But if I wait for 18 month, then there is no S$150 fee.

My last recontract was in Jan 2020.

Just found out Singtel CIS for my corporate discount only applies to Combo plan, XO plan doesn't have CIS discount at all. Not sure what about others?

What I understand is now you can combine both combo and Xo plan as five lines but only combo plan entitle the discount. Previously to be given the discount of 30% all the 5 line must be combo plan than can.

Example 3 combo plan and 2 Xo plan , you are still given 30% monthly discount but only to the 3 combo plan and the 2 Xo plan you need to pay in full.

I changed from Combo 3 to XO78 with 5G, did not change number.

I did pay for a new SIM though. Maybe the question is if a new SIM is needed for 5G. I don’t know the answer to this. Since my SIM was pretty old, I thought of changing because I also wanted a new SIM.

When I received the package, I dialled into the special Singtel number to activate the new SIM. Took a short time to see the old SIM in my old phone deactivated. Once I saw that, I switched off my new phone with the new SIM and switched it back on and the new SIM was activated.

Singtel circles for so many years with combo 3, Internet and expensive football subscription..

Enjoyed the yearly handset upgrade to buy iPhone every year. Luckily last year I decided not to buy the phone, so this year managed to port out.

All the bundles , early handset upgrade penalty, is really quite troublesome to keep track when u can buy phone. I used to be zhun zhun 11-12 month as early as possible recontract and buy iPhone - maximize the benefit.

If U didn’t recontract as early as possible when u are alllowed to, u actually Lugi quite a bit paying the high monthly subscription.

Time is ripe for the GOMO, GIGA or Circles Life , etc

Most probably I will help my wife to get XO 68.

As my father Combo 2 contract also end at SEP 2021. He kind of old school type only local call & SMS, doesn’t use any data app at all.

But compare with Combo 2 & XO 50 not much difference.

Most probably let my father remain with combo 2 plan, because still entitled Singtel circle 20% discount on combo 2 plan.
