I have a Singtel TV subscription package with broadband and land line. I wish to watch Mediacorp and cable TV channels on my secondary TV, in my master bedroom (in addition to the primary TV in the living room).

I understand one way to do so is to get an additional Singtel TV set-top box and hook up my bedroom TV to it (I have a LAN point in my bedroom). I was told by the Singtel service rep this will cost me an additional $10 per mth for the rental.

I saw on Carousell that people are selling Singtel TV set-top boxes for $60-$80 each. Can I just buy one there, and use it to be able to watch the full range of TV and cable channels in my master bedroom?

you still need to pay for the additional screen content 10 dollars a month I think

The difficult part isn't the box

The difficult part is getting Singtel to enable connection to the box

Thanks for offering some possible solutions. The wired options are not something I would wish to consider due to the need to run trunking all the way from the living room, through a bedroom and into the master bedroom.

I did a quick googling and the presence of walls in-between the transmitter and receiver means the efficiency of wireless-extended HDMI is greatly reduced.

Mediacorp channels - you can install mewatch on most smart TVs and watch without registering for a mewatch account

Singtel TV channels - don't think you can just use any set-top box because I know Singtel do gain access to the STB to configure for first use as well as troubleshooting (I encounter before). If your TV has built-in Android or use an Android box, install the Singtel TV GO app and login with your TV acount number. You may be able to watch your cable channels without subscription to the GO app by using On-The-Go mode. This one you got to try yourself because I subscribed to the GO app (1 device) so maybe that's why I can watch on another device (second TV).

20 years ago I used Slingbox to share on different screens. Need a PC connected to the screen for it to work. A big thing then as I can watch remotely on my Nokia E71 phone.

Both Slingbox and Hava Monsoon boxes have since being discontinued. Can try searching Amazon if it is still available.
