I wouldnt say better. NUS and NTU definitely have better branding. Being around for longer, NUS/NTU are better known. Research and publication wise, NTU would definitely be better than SIT on all fronts. If you can get into NTU, then you dont have to consider SIT.

That said, SIT isnt too bad. Its a local university too, so you know that the govt will invest in it in the future. But at this point of time, its clear than NTU is better than SIT.

If let's say I try SIT since there's better chance. .. Do you think SIT will rise up the ranks one day in terms of reputation? Or is it just wishful thinking?

It's possible. But it will take a long time. It won't happen in a decade. Even for SMU, it took them awhile to be seen locally as on par with NUS and NTU. SIT doesn't even have its own dedicated campus yet either. In terms of local reputation, if it follows SMU's trajectory, it would take about 10 or so years for it to be viewed as on par with the other big 3. And it would take much much longer than that before it breaks into the top 100 or so in the international ranking tables that both NUS and NTU are a part of.

As for SIT, I stand almost a 90% chance

I just worried that for SIT, later my future employer look down.
